Getting good insurance for a good car

01 Nov

Good car, good owner, good insurance

If you care about your car enough to get it insured it means your car is lucky to have a good owner. A good car owner won’t trust his car to any place there is. A good car owner will shop around for the best possible rate and a best possible company. There is a variety of companies you can find by clicking the sites everyday. Most of them offer quotes to inform potential costumers about services the company is willing to grant and their conditions. Prices may be different but it all depends on lots of factors. Remember that your car is individual and that is how insurers see it as well. When you are to obtain a quote, please be as precise as possible. Having a good driving record, good credit history, low mileage, location of vehicle, safety features on a vehicle as well as other important details will help you get your payment reduced. But don’t think the price can only go lower. It is absolutely not true. If you took part in an accident, if you credit score is poor, if you are known to miss payments and high mileage, the insurer has a full right to raise your payments on premiums.

Keeping your business protected from external risks

01 Nov

You are prosperous and you feel like the world is at your feet. Yes, many of us want to believe we own the success and we stand behind it alone. But in reality, there are people standing behind our back that are involved in our rises and falls. These people are the employees. Therefore you need to think of them as a part of your team that was there to get you to the top of the world. You should know your staff needs a reward. But how could you possibly reward them? If your company takes care of more than two but less than 50 people, there is an insurance that works for you and your business. It is very valuable when people that run the business for you are proficient employees who are in charge of their duties. But no matter what happens in the companies, no matter how many mistakes one can make, because we are only human after all, the staff needs to feel like they are cared even when they fail, as it can happen to anyone.

The “cream” off the top of the Policy

Right before you head into the office of the insurance company and put your signature somewhere get yourself together and remind yourself why you are there. Make a list of questions you need to ask before you sign anything. Make sure all the answers satisfy you. It is preferable to show up with statistics about the staff you want to insure, gather all of the important information on them that is necessary to apply for the coverage. Remember to introduce the slightest details and help the insurer to collect all the fact as accurately as possible.

There are certain discounts and special offers that the business insurance allows you to take advantage of. They are the following:

  • Medical assistance. The insurance will take care of all the events that would involve you or any member of your team getting hurt.
  • Tax-free options. All the co-workers have a possibility to economize some money on taxes and some special payments.
  • Low payments. If you are the owner of a small enterprise – small business insurance will cost you less than other policies would normally cost you if purchased separately. Therefore it always makes sense to shop around some more instead of jumping on the first opportunity you see.

Cutting Back on Credit Card Debts

12 Sep

Credit cards have long been a convenient and simple way to make payment for purchases, whether in person, by phone, on via the Internet. Credit cards offer many benefits, from the ease and convenience of being able to make cash free payments to being able to spread repayments on your purchases to increase affordability. However, for many people credit card debt can quickly spiral out of control, and this can result in financial problems and stress.

Many people have more than one credit card – some people have several cards, all of which have high balances and on which they are being charged high rates of interest. This can result in extortionate repayments each month and can involve paying a lot of money in interest until the balances have been cleared. This is why it is important to try and clear your higher interest credit card debts as soon as possible.

One solution to dealing more effectively with your credit card debts is to take out a 0% balance transfer credit card or a low rate life of balance transfer credit card and transfer your higher interest balances on to the new card. This can benefit you in a number of ways. Firstly you will only have one repayment to deal with, which eases financial management and reduces hassle. Secondly, you can enjoy cutting back on the amount of interest that you pay, and could even get away with paying no further interest in some cases. You can also reduce your monthly outgoings by transferring your various credit card balances.

If you transfer your balances onto a 0% balance transfer card you will probably be charged a fee of between two or three percent of the total amount being transferred. If you can then repay the total transferred balance within the interest free period you will be able to get away with paying no further interest. With a low rate life of balance transfer card you will not be charged a fee, but you will enjoy a very low rate of interest for the life of the transferred balance so you are no so restricted in terms of how long you have to repay your balance.

Once you have transferred your balances it is a good idea to close down the high interest rate credit card accounts. If you want to have a credit card on hand to use for emergencies you should apply for a 0% purchase card, as you can then enjoy interest free credit in the event that you do need to use the card.

The 7 Rules of Credit Card Balance Transfer

12 Sep

Credit card balance transfer is a great way of consolidating your credit card debt, and also finding a way of avoiding the terrible burden that debt can bring. Transfer offers are in high demand and many credit card issuers highlight their balance transfer features up front as part of their overall advertising package. These days the credit card companies are in heavy competition with each other to get your business.

But have you ever considered the dream ticket of always having an interest free credit card at all times, no matter what the circumstances? Well here is a check list of seven things you must do in order to get the best out of it.

1. Always make sure that your credit card balance transfers are carried out on time and with no overlap periods from one card to the next, which will cost you money in nasty interest charges. Make allowances for delays in the post when notifying banks and credit card companies by mail, and also note that different banks will move at different speeds when responding to requests.

2. Make sure that 0 balance transfer credit card offers are always current and available at the time you apply. There’s no point in making a mental note of an offer and then applying for it after it has expired.

3. Interest free balance transfer credit cards must be exactly that; be careful and look out for any hidden charges in the small print. A 0 APR credit card should be exactly what it says it is.

4. The type of card to transfer balances from is crucial. Store cards tend to have a higher rate of APR than normal credit cards, so consider transferring all these balances on one or more low interest card. You can end up saving a substantial amount of money. Proper use of the credit card balance transfer feature can be useful and convenient, and a vital way of avoiding credit card debt.

5. Trust your source. A low interest credit card or 0 interest credit card should be easy to identify, preferably from a source where you are able to make comparisons between different types of card. Ideally you should deal with a source which is impartial and which does not promote one credit card or bank over another. Also, your source should provide easy to read and understand comparative charts to help you make such decisions swiftly, without undue pressure, and without any fear of being misled.

6. Keep a note of the exact date of when your 0 interest period finishes, and apply for your new credit card balance transfer at least two weeks before that date.

7. Try and ensure that your interest free credit card balance transfer facility is flexible and quick. At present it is the norm to put details of your credit balance transfers in writing at the time of application. Bear in mind that both parties need to know what is going on at the same time. Make it easy for everyone, including yourself.

Personal Finance Guidelines for Stretching Your Paycheck

12 Sep

In this post, I would like to present personal budget guidelines, and hopefully, point out some potential holes or problems in your budget. The goal here is of course, to help you find ways to increase your disposable income, or the amount of money left over after all bills are paid. After reviewing this post, I hope to ignite some ideas in your mind about ways to cut expenses, and the things that are really eating holes in your budget. The following chart is a mixture of what other personal budget experts think, and my personal opinion of how to allocate your money:

Percentage of Income

Expense Description

10% God / Church

25% Housing

10% Utilities

18% Transportation

10% Food

2% Clothing / Attire

5% Misc. (eg Phone, Internet)

5% Medical Expenses

5% Other Debt

6% Savings

4% Entertainment

In the above table, I have listed the expenses in order of importance (to me, anyway). There are a couple of key things I want you to notice in reference to the above table:

Taking God Out of the Equation

The absolute worst budget mistake you can make. Without God and his blessings on your life, you are doomed. Do not cut your budget here!

Housing

This is where many people make a huge mistake. Many lenders will allow you to borrow up to 50% of your monthly income towards a house. This is ludicrous! Buy something within your means, or wait, and offer on several different houses at a discounted price to fit into your budget.

Transportation

Most people will not be able to fit into the 18% allocation for transportation, because they have a car payment that is 10-20% of their monthly income already. By the time you add the cost of gasoline and general maintenance, you are well above the 18% mark.

Miscellaneous

Cable TV, Long Distance Service, House Alarm System Service, Incredibly High-Speed Internet Service, etc. are budget killers. Stick to the basics in every service, and do without as many of them as possible!

Food and Entertainment

Do you need fillet mignon, caviar and two nights and the Weston 2-3 times a month? Do you have to have name brand cereal, Netflix, and StarBucks? Count up the cost of these and you will be shocked. Stay with off brands in the grocery store, and limit or cut back the high dollar, high frequency entertainment, I guarantee it will come back to haunt you. On a personal note, buying movies at Walmart in the $5.50 bin is a much better bargain than paying $3.99 at the rental store for only 5 nights of viewing.

I think you will find it remarkable how implementing just one or more of these personal budget guidelines and suggestions can make a difference in your family budget. The main thing is to group and count the cost of all the various expenses in your budget, and start trimming the fat. I track all expenses in my budget (except for entertainment) to make sure I do not overextend myself. If you are wondering why I do not track my entertainment expenses, it is because I hate wasting money, thus I have no budget for entertainment. This forces me to think twice about any entertainment expense, because I know it will put me over my total personal budget!

Balance Transfer Credit Cards – How Good Are They?

11 Sep

Are you looking for ways to save yourself money? If the answer is yes then read on as I have the answer to your prayers, by changing your credit card to one that offers a balance transfer deal.

The credit card companies are looking for your business, so there has never been a better time to check out the great deals that are on offer, and save yourself some money at the same time. One of the ways to do this is by looking for credit card companies that are offering Balance transfer deal.

0% balance transfers – what are they?

Balance transfer deals, what are they I here you ask! They are here to save us money and using one will be a great advantage to you. If you are not sure how they work read on and I will explain,

A balance transfer is when you move your balance from your existing card to another card that is giving you a better APR. A lot of companies are jumping on the bandwagon with this deal they will offer you 0% interest for a period of time, it could be 6 to 9 months or even up to a year. A typical example is say the card you had was charging you a an APR of 27.9% and your balance is £2000, your monthly payment would be £300 you will not have cleared your balance after a 6 months period, in fact you would have paid £494 in interest and you would still owe £694. If you could have put this amount into a balance transfer deal then the amount due at the end of the six months would be £200, saving you £494 how good is that!

Choose the card that suits you…

Take your time when looking for these deals as there are many out there. Check the junk mail, as it might not be junk after all, or on the Internet, there has never been a better time to take advantage of these great deals. These companies want your business so look around for the best deal to suit you.

If you change your credit card to one with the 0% interest free period, please double check the APR once your free period is over to make sure it is lower than your last card, as you don’t want to be costing yourself more money.

Once you decide to switch cards, and your initial 0% interest free period is up do not be afraid to change to another one and use that one in the same way, it is about time we got something back from these credit card companies.

3) Make sure you are aware of the new credit cards APR after the introductory deal is over
4) Do not apply for too many credit cards at once as this may affect your credit rating

Are We Seeing The Demise Of The Balance Transfer Credit Card?

10 Sep

A few years back, credit card companies realized that they reached nearly every potential new customer. In order to keep increasing their market shares and their profits, they were going to have to entice people who already had credit cards to jump ship from their old companies and apply for a new credit card with them. Thus was born the concept of the balance transfer credit card. Balance transfer cards offer consumers the chance to reduce their monthly payments and total repayment amount on their current account balances by giving them a lower rate of interest – often 0% interest – on any balance transferred from another credit card.

These cards proved to be far more popular than the card issuers expected. Consumers figured out fairly quickly that they could shift balances from one card to the next, moving on to another 0% transfer card when the low interest rate on their last balance transfer card expired. Rate tarts, the term coined for people who moved their balances to avoid paying interest on their carried over balances, shook the credit card companies and encouraged them to start placing some restrictions on their offers.

Originally, the companies thought that people would transfer their balances to a new card, and use that credit card in preference to others. Under that scheme, the card companies would lose out on the interest on the transferred balance, but would make up for it in interest rates and merchant fees on new purchases. Unfortunately for the companies, today’s consumer has the benefit of the internet with comparison sites to help them work their way through the complexities of credit card finances and loans. Many consumers transferred their balances to a new card, but didn’t use the card to make new purchases.

In response to that, the credit card companies began placing limits and restrictions on their balance transfer offers. This has let a lot of people to believe that we are seeing the demise of the balance transfer credit card. In reality, the concept of offering lower interest for moving your carried account balance hasn’t died – it’s simply undergoing a metamorphosis to make it more friendly to the credit card companies.

That means, of course, that it’s less friendly to consumers, who now have to shop a bit harder to get a good balance transfer deal. Those deals can still save you a lot of money, though, so it’s important to keep your eye out for them. You’ll also need to watch out for some of the tricks and traps that credit card companies are building into their offers now to discourage rate tarts. Before you apply for a balance transfer credit card, look closely at the member agreement so that you know:

- What is the APR for transferred balances?

- What is the balance transfer fee for the transaction?

- How long will the new APR apply to my balance transfer?

- What is the APR for new purchases made to the card?

- Do I have to whack a certain amount or number of new purchases on my card to keep the low APR on my balance transfer?

- Is the balance transfer fee more than the amount of interest that I’d pay on the transferred balance over the same amount of time?

- What will invalidate my balance transfer offer?

If you’re looking for a way to lower your monthly payments, or cut down the total repayment on your credit card bills, a balance transfer card could be the answer that you need. Check out new balance transfer offers at comparison sites on a regular basis so that you’ll never have to pay more interest on your accounts than you should.

A Beginner’s Guide to Personal Finance

10 Sep
Managing personal finance is a delicate issue at the best of times that requires the careful consideration of various factors. You have your basic salary which gives you a monthly or yearly injection of cash and then you have your direct debits – bills for your rent or mortgage, internet connection, water, gas, insurance, car, mobile phone credit etc. But it’s far more complicated than all that even, there’s your living costs including food, transport and petrol, holidays, leisure activities, Christmas presents; and more coming in too – loans, gifts for birthdays and holidays, bonuses, investments… it all gets rather hard to keep track of, but keep track of it you must if you’re going to keep yourself afloat. Fortunately it’s always possible to get help from a financial advisor, or a refinancing company that can pay off your debts with a single loan. However this often results in unnecessary cost on your part and will never account for all your different costs and profits.
Fortunately there are some simple tips you can utilise to make sure you manage to keep on top of your finance. The first and most important tip is to keep a note of everything you spend and receive in a day. This shouldn’t take too long if you keep up to date with a cash book. It’ll take about ten to twenty minutes every evening but at the same time it’ll mean you know exactly what you’re spending and how much is in your account. Similarly you should keep a note of when your credit cards need paying and which other direct debits are coming in and out each day. This way you’re far less likely to bounce a payment or to spend money you can’t afford, which will in turn mean that your credit rating stays healthy. If you get bad credit it will become very difficult to get loans or mortgages and only through the process of credit repair will you be able to win back the trust of the banks.
Another simple tip is to use different accounts for different lumps of money. For example, it’s great to have an account for your debits and mortgages which should probably be the same account your monthly payments come into. Workout how much your loan repayments and debits come to a month and make sure there’s always at least twice that in the account at all times. This again will prevent debits bouncing and a need for credit repair. If your total outgoings come to more than your total income then you know you need to find a loan. On the other hand if you have a lump of money that’s large enough to pay off a year’s worth of one debit or loan – for example a year’s worth of rent – you can put that into one simple account and set up a direct debit to their, and this way you’ll never have to worry about it and won’t find yourself without a roof over your head. If you have lots of spare cash you can do this with all your debits keeping your income free to spend on daily activities.
Alternatively you can ‘siphon’ some of your profit off, for example ten percent which is then money that’s free for you to spend as you wish without worrying about it damaging your overall money. Similarly you should siphon off some savings, again a percentage of your salary and maybe any gift money, which you can then use to gather interest or use on a rainy day to pay off credit cards etc. These are just some simple steps you can take to make your finance more manageable and keep your money under check.
